Summer Nights

Recently we were in Pigeon Forge where we spend alot of time in the summer since Kenny and the kids perform. We had a free afternoon and we went to a local show where they performed oldies songs and songs from the movie Grease. As I listened to those songs it took me back, that was my fav movie and I still know all the words! They sang Summer Nights and I started thinking about these few summer nights we have left. It was truly a great summer even though it flew by.
We seen the last space shuttle take off, we toured the U.S.S. Yorktown in Charleston S.C., we learned I not only get car sick in the car but also in the rocking chair (I know it's pitiful). We loved seashell hunting, night swims and crablegs.
I watched as Savanna admired four teenage girls in the pool. She lurked around watching and listening to everything they did. I looked at her and remembered when she was 3 or 4 and we would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she would answer "a teenager". It was cute but I know I will blink my eyes and that dream will be reality. I am saddened to see our summer of ministry, family time, family performances come to an end. Lane is entering the 8th grade and Savanna the 4th grade, the years are flying. Soon we will be right in the middle of school schedules, football, and cheerleading. Family time will be hard to come by and Kenny will be loading up without us. I have alot to accomplish before next summer but maybe every now and then I can still feel a carefree summer night!
                                                         Till next time,

Summer Vacation

What I will miss about our beach vacation (not in any order)
  • walking/sitting on the beach
  • warm breezes
  • swimming in the pool
  • fresh seafood
  • sand between my toes
  • making up silly songs and laughing our heads off
  • spending time with my husband
  • painted toenails

What I will not miss (not in any order)
  • waiting half my life on the elevators
  • rolling down the windows All the way home to let gas vapors out the car (thanks Lane and Savanna)
  • sand in every nook and cranny (literally)
  • trying to fold the beach chairs up (awful)
  • trying to keep all our luggage on the rolling carts (it all fell off in the elevator)

Moontide

Hello, I'm writing from New Smyrna Beach Florida. I am trying to use my free time wisely since I don't have very much of it! I thought a blog would be a great way to keep up with my husband, my children and my head since most days I would loose it if it wasn't attatched to my body! I would also forget my name if I didn't have 20 four year olds calling "Mrs. Maryann"! I am so blessed to have my life, God is so good to me even though I do not deserve it. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR GOD'S GRACE!!!!!
My husband is an evangelist and he travels every weekend speaking in 2 or 3 different churches. Through the week my husband and two of my children Lane (13) and Savanna (9) sing in a few different theatres in Pigeon Forge Tn. My soul gets a blessing everytime I watch them. God is molding my kids and shaping them into beautiful young people. My prayer is that they always put God first. We belong to a church in Oak Ridge Tn, Ridgepoint Church. I truly love my church family and miss them in the summer months when we are traveling with Kenny. Lane and Savanna sing in the Childrens Worship time on Sunday mornings, that is part of their ministry. We have a fantastic Pastor and Children's Pastor. We also have a terrific music ministry, my oldest son Tyler (21) plays the drums in the band. HE ROCKS!!!!!! I am a proud Moma!
Working in the school gives me the freedom to travel with Kenny and the kids in the summer. We have lots of adventures and we get to see things that normally we wouldn't get to see. That is why this blog is titled "Moontide", it's the name of our condo here in Florida. We are enjoying eachother and just relaxing (whatever that is)! Till next time,
